A neuro-fuzzy adaptive control strategy for refuse incineration plants

Abstract A refuse incineration plant is a complex process, whose multi-variable control problems cannot be solved conventionally by deriving an exact mathematical model of the process. A solution based on advanced fuzzy logic technologies within a suitable development methodology is demonstrated by a controller implemented for the refuse incineration plant in Hamburg-Stapelfeld, Germany. Incineration plants are individual constructions. To adapt the controller for other plants, a method for automated adaptation of the controller is designed.
