Abstract : The results of the Task II effort to experimentally verify a method of analysis of the structural dynamics response of general aviation airplanes subjected to a crash environment are presented. Included in this report is a description of the preparation for the performance of four instrumented full-scale crash tests involving a single-engine, high wing type airplane. All crash testing was performed at the NASA Langley Impact Dynamics Research Facility (IDRF). The crash tests involved a wide range of impact attitudes and included one impact into a soil covered terrain.
