Description of the Cross Saturation in an IPMSM for Electric Vehicles Using Bicubic Splines

In this paper an approach to calculate the cross saturation effect in an interior permanent magnet synchronous machine for the use in automotive applications is described. The machine equations for dynamic simulations were modified and the necessary parameters for the flux linkage and inductances are described by bicubic splines, which guarantee consistency for fast simulations.
