Inorder tomaketherecognition oftheobjects thatappear inanimageingrayscale, previously different techniques areusedforfeature extraction oftheobjects that appear inthis image. Oneofthemostcommonoperations usedtocarry outfeature extraction isedgedetection. The mainreason isthat theedges define thelimits between them andthebackground andbetween theobjects themselves (see
