Performance Analysis of Request Dispatching and Selecting in Web Server Clusters

This paper discusses and provides the request dispatching and selecting schemes for Web server clusters and the stochastic high level Petri net models for those schemes. This paper focus on those new schemes and their performance models and analysis. In order to cope with the well known state space explosion problem, it proposes a novel approximate analysis technique, which significantly reduces the complexity of the model solution. Moreover, the Web server cluster models, the request dispatching and selecting schemes and the approximate analysis technique can be applied to performance evaluation of this class of various complex systems.
