Segmentation floue d'images couleur

The algorithm proposed in this paper aims at obtaining fuzzy regions from monochromatic or colour images. Fuzzy regions overlap, their core are automatically determined in the local minimums of the gradient norms. The membership degrees, based on the topographic distance, strongly decrease as soon as an edge is encountered. A first application is the crisp segmentation obtained after defuzzification of fuzzy segmentation But the main application is the fuzzy regions themselves, which can be employed for pattern recognition or image indexing.
