A cross-level approach to distribution planning

The design of changeable distribution networks can be identified as a key factor for a successful market position. One the one hand, this requires knowledge about the character of the changeability planning task and the supporting processes. On the other hand, the autonomous organizations in distribution networks demand for a collaborative planning and harmonization of measures. This paper presents a cross-level and model-based process for changeability planning which has been validated in an inventory planning scenario for multi-echelon distribution systems.
