Rail-pad prevents damage of the tie and ballast because it reduces the impact and high frequency vibration, which occurs when a vehicle load transfers to a tie. But elasticity of the rail-pad can decrease by vehicle load and usable period. If that happens, stiffness of the rail-pad will be increased. Once stiffness of the rail-pad increases, track maintenance cost is also increased because it accelerates the damage of the track. In this study, accelerated heat aging test was performed to predict an expectable lifetime of the rail-pad. As a result, it was predicted about sixteen years at 25℃ that usable lifetime of rail-pad using NR rubber from Arrhenius relationship. Also, it was predicted about thirty-two days at 100℃. At this time, a standard about rate of a thickness change is within 12%.
