All-optical gain control scheme for a remotely pumped multicore erbium-doped fiber amplifier

A novel all-optical automatic gain control scheme for a remotely-pumped multicore EDFA having a fiber ring laser configuration is proposed. We measured the difference of the gain spectra among the pump light wavelengths/powers and revealed that the difference was caused by the spectral hole burning effect.
