Producing and Sharing Regional Weather Forecast Data for e-Science Applications

This paper describes the production and publication of regional weather forecast data processes based on both different users' needs and applications applied on the Brazilian Northeast region, highlighting the benefits brought for end-users. The process of producing weather forecasts is made up of five main phases: (i) download input data; (ii) preprocessing input data; (iii) regional atmospheric model execution; (iv) post-processing output data; and (v) publication of results. This process is completely automatic and is executed on a daily basis. In order to produce weather forecasts, we use the Brazilian regional atmospheric model (BRAMS), which is a version of the RAMS model, especially tailored to the tropics.
