The fistula Antituberculous Treatment And Total Hip Arthroplasty In Old Tuberculous Hip . A Case Report

Introduction Tuberculosis of the hip represents about 15 % of the whole osteo-articular tuberculosis . In the long term, it is responsible for a major functional handicap by articular destruction with fibrous ankylosis. This is an indication for total hip arthroplasty. However, the u s e o f p o s t s u r g e r y a n t i t u b e r c u l o u s chemoprophylaxis remains a controversial subject. In this paper, we report a case of tuberculous left hip coxalgia. It was treated with cemented total hip arthroplasty and reconstruction of the labrum w i t h o u t p o s t s u r g e r y a n t i t u b e r c u l o u s chemoprophylaxis. This surgery was done two year after continuous dormancy of the old tuberculous focus. There was no tuberculous activation after three years of follow up.
