Probability of Error in MMSE Detection For MIMO-FBMC-OQAM Systems

This work calculates closed-form symbol error rate (SER) expression for minimum mean square error (MMSE) detection in low-frequency selective multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) filter bank multicarrier (FBMC) systems with offset quadrature amplitude modulation (OQAM). To achieve this aim, we first derive, by assuming perfect receive channel state information, the probability distribution function (PDF) of the post-processing signal-to-noise-plus-interference-ratio for MMSE combining in small MIMO-FBMC-OQAM systems. The PDF is then used to derive the closed-form SER expression. We show that the performance of the derived SER expression matches with its numerical counterpart.
