DISTANCE WARNING AND CONTROL AS A MEANS OF INCREASING ROAD SAFETY AND EASE OF OPERATION

This paper presents research work concerning the components and functions of a distance warning and control system for cars, describing the sensor technology, signal processing, plausibility, strategies for distance and speed, display (i.e. presentation of information to the driver) and ideas on how the acclerator and brake could be controlled to enhance the functionality of the cruise control system.
