Fertility of Western Corn Rootworm Reared as Larvae on Alternate Hosts

In laboratory, greenhouse, and field tests, viable eggs were laid by adult western corn rootworm, Diabrotica virgifera LcContc, that had been reared as larvae on green foxtail, yellow foxtail, Minter and Selkirk wheats, Omugi barley, Oahe intermediate wheatgrass, and corn. Fertility of the beetles did not appear to be reduced by any of these alternate larval hosts.
