Generating solitons in lattices of nonlinear circuits

A lattice of nonlinear circuits is exploited in order to emulate the soliton phenomena. The Korteweg-de Vries equation, traditionally used to model unidirectional waves propagating in a dispersive energy conserving medium, has been arranged in a lattice form and mapped onto a one dimensional CNN structure. Several experimental results show that the waves revealed on the circuit present the same properties of solitons. In particular, they preserve their speed and shape after a collision.
