An improvement to the basic energy balance model for urban thermal environment analysis

Abstract An improvement is made to the basic energy balance model for urban thermal environment analysis by incorporating the important building mass effect on the surface energy balance. Results show better correlation with typical city temperatures in Malaysia, suggesting that the mass effect should be considered in all advanced urban climatological models.
