Thermoelastic behavior of composites with coated reinforcements: a micromechanical approach and applications

Abstract The linear thermoelastic behavior of composites with coated inclusions is studied. The coating is considered as a thin layer with different thermomechanical properties from those of the inclusion and the matrix. The interactions between the reinforcements are deduced from a self-consistent scheme. The residual thermal stresses deduced from this model are compared to those calculated from different models.
