High Density Multicore Fibers Employing Small MFD Cores for Datacenters

Homogeneous single-mode multicore fibers (SM-MCFs) with simple step index profiles are attractive for low-cost and high-density datacenter optical networks. Low-crosstalk 12-core SM-MCFs with cladding diameters of less than 150 μm are proposed.
