Abstract CD-ROM technology has tremendous potential for disseminating archaeological data and results both to the general public and within the professional community. Building on the authors' own experiences in producing a CD-ROM companion to a published site report, this article presents an overview of some of the issues that should be considered in developing standards for taking advantage of this new medium.
