Geometrical Approach to Induction Motor Design

The paper proposes a procedure for the electromagnetic design of three phase induction motors. The procedure is based on self-consistent equations. This approach does not use the typical experience/historical data-base collection as usual done in a lot of company design offices. Obviously, some design specifications (such as the electric and magnetic material solicitations) have to be imposed by the user, but the geometrical dimensions of the motor are automatically computed. In the paper the step-by-step design procedures are described and for each step the used equations are reported.
