A key-code watermarking algorithm for video content protection

The popularity of multimedia service over Internet has created the needs for efficient digital right management technology. In recent years, many researchers have focused on how to protect and control multimedia contents from the unauthorized usage. In this paper, we propose a fast and reliable digital right management algorithm based on digital watermarking for real time video contents protection. In the proposed algorithm, video is encrypted and transmitted to the receiver. At the receiver side, the use with the correct key can decrypt the video content and the video is watermarked with user ID at the receiver. The watermarked video can be used to trace illegal distribution. By using this algorithm, there is no need for transmitting different version of video to different user.
