Neural network applications for data interpretation and diagnostic analysis

The purpose of this paper is to provide a brief introduction to the potential of neural network processing strategies. The operation and training of a particular neural network is reviewed. Two subsequent sections discuss the application of neural networks to the load forecasting and incipient fault detection problems, showing the interpretive and diagnostic abilities, respectively, of these networks. Finally, implementation issues are addressed.
