Optimum design and case study of auto body parts' flanging trimming line

Optimum design of auto body parts' flanging trimming line was studied.An iterative method based on error-correction was put forward.Based on FEM simulation of LS-DYNA,the blank shape was optimized according to the shape error values of simulation results curve and the target curve.After one or two iterations,the exact trimming lines of complicated auto body flanging parts would be obtained.The program could automatically call LS-DYNA solver,which could greatly increase the efficiency of the trimming line optimization.Finally,by studying two cases of auto body flanging parts,the method has been proved to be effective.It has provided a practical way for the synchronous development of auto body parts' drawing die and trimming die.
