Separation and analysis of the chemical constituents of Mallotus apelta

Objective To study the chemical constituents of the leaves of Mallotus apelta. Methods Silica gel column chromatography was employed to isolate and purify the constituents.Structures of the chemical constituents were elucidated by IR,MS and NMR.Results Four constituents were isolated and identified as chrysophanol(Ⅰ),nicotinic acid(Ⅱ),isoscopletin(Ⅲ) and 4-methoxybenzoic acid(Ⅳ),respectively.Conclusion Compound Ⅰ,Ⅱ,Ⅲ and Ⅳ were firstly separated from Mallotus apelta.
