AUTONOMIC COMPUTING: TOWARDS SELF-HEALING SYSTEM

from past two decades, we have seen ballooning amount of growth in internet usage and information. With this there is simultaneous explosion in amount of data being processed every minute, and technologies being invented. All these enhancements steered us towards unprecedented levels of complexities. To manage this complex system, there was a call for a paradigm which can configure the system i.e. adapt to the changing environment, protect it from errors, optimize its functionality and manage itself, that too, automatically. And this gave birth to new computing era known as autonomic computing, which was in its nascence in early 1990s. In this paper we will be presenting what is autonomic computing, how this concept is inspired by human autonomic nervous system, problems, conclusion and what is the future of autonomic computing.
