Development of a Chain Planetary Transmission as Speed Increaser / Reducer for Renewable Energy Systems

The paper focuses on the development of a planetary chain transmission for stand-alone small hydropower plants and solar tracking systems, involving a certain transmission ratio, a good efficiency, low-cost, relative simple and compact mechanisms. The steps in the transmission development process that are presented in the paper are: 1identification, analyze and classification of the requirements, 2conceptual design, 3embodiment design, 4digital validation (3D prototype, finite element analysis, dynamic model), 5-detail design, 6manufacturing and assembly, and 7product test, optimization and validation.
