Realising distributed multimedia networking services on DPE

We present and discuss of the networking architecture model and its realization on DPE for the flexible management and rapid introduction of services. This provides various multimedia services over a new networking environment based on concept of TINA on high speed transport network. In the proposed architecture, the applications are deployed through units of software such as managers, agents and servers. Each manager provides a layered view, enabling the effective management and control of the multimedia network resources and services. This paper also propose a naming structure by using directory service system for the flexible management of user and session profiles, and the effective control model of multimedia logical device objects that uses stream process approach. The platform of our model is implemented on distributed processing environment software, ANSAware. In order for provision various services to users and effective management of service introduction, this architecture presents ad hoc service manager such as VOD manager and CSCW manager.
