Complex formation between polyisobutylene and cyclodextrins: inversion of chain-length selectivity between .beta.-cyclodextrin and .gamma.-cyclodextrin

It is shown that β-and γ-cyclodextrins (CD) form complexes with polyisobutylene, whereas α-cyclodextrin doesn't. The chain length selectivities are totally different between β-CD and γ-CD.
