A novel forward single-stage single-switch power factor correction AC/DC converter

This paper proposes a novel forward single-stage single-switch power factor correction AC/DC power converter. The proposed topology adds an inductor, transformer windings and diodes into a forward converter. The input current satisfies IEC 1000-3-2 Class D standards with output voltage quickly regulated, and the storage capacitor voltage can be low enough. This paper gives out detailed theoretical analysis and experimental results, which confirm the predicted performance of the proposed topology.
