APPLICATION OF RELATIVE GAIN ARRAY METHOD TO ANALYZE INTERACTION OF MULTI-FUCTIONAL FACTS CONTROLLERS

The paper proposed a new method, i.e. a modified method based on the relative gain array (RGA), which is capable of analyzing the interactions of different control loops for the multi-functional controllers and to guide the design of such kind controllers. The proposed RGA method can be employed to choose the best control pairs based on the interaction information. To demonstrate the comprehensive applications of the method presented, a power system with a multi-functional UPFC controller was investigated. Numerical results showed the effectiveness of the proposed method to the selection of the damping control signal and the superimposed control function.
