The degradation of epoxy resin by partial discharge stressing

A variety of manufactured solid insulation systems for high power plant include an epoxy resin. Where the component is used in a high voltage environment the resin is likely to be subjected to varying degrees of partial discharge stressing through its life. This paper presents the results of an investigation utilising attenuated total reflectance (ATR) infrared microspectroscopy to determine chemical changes in the resin surface.<<ETX>>
