Clamping force of a half-buried-torpedo salvage device and bearing capability of the torpedo hull

To salvage an experimental torpedo that was half-buried under water, the clamping force of a salvage device was determined according to the working condition of the device. The strength and stability of the torpedo hull were calculated using thin hull theories, and the clamping force was verified to be suitable. The strength and stability of the torpedo hull were also calculated by ANSYS structural analysis software. The reliability of the finite element method was verified by comparing the calculated results obtained from analytic method with the calculated results obtained from finite element analysis method. The findings provide a theoretical basis for structure design and optimization of clamping mechanisms.
