IoT Application in Construction and Civil Engineering Works

Internet of Things (IoT) technologies have gained widespread popularity in recent years. However, the application of IoT technologies in construction and civil engineering is relatively unexplored. This paper describes an IoT monitoring system for the purpose of improving safety in these fields. Validation tests for the system have been conducted in actual construction and civil engineering sites. It is expected that its adoption in the construction and civil engineering industries can greatly enhance safety in the long run.
