Binding energies of excitons and charged excitons in GaAsGa(In)As quantum dots

Abstract We report on perturbative and variational estimates of the binding energies of excitons and charged excitons in Ga(In)As GaAs quantum dots. The latter are modeled by cones or hemispherical caps floating on a 2D plane.
