Application of Symbol System in Book Design

Based on carding of relationship between signifier and signified in the symbols system of book design,discusssed that the process of book design was the process of symbolization,and then discussed that the symbols system of book design conveyed the text meaning and the art emotion by three levels of pragmatic design,semantic transfer and context construction,and emphasized the interaction between entire design and every part based on researching actual use of symbols.Then presented establishing the overall image of book by a systematic symbol system,and generalizing three ways of symbols apply.
