Metadata distribution method and device based on directory partition

The invention relates to a metadata distribution method based on directory partition. The metadata distribution method includes the following steps: obtaining filenames in the metadata to obtain name files; perform directory partition to a directory to obtain a plurality of directory sharding files and distributing a directory sharding number to every directory sharding file; respectively distributing a directory sharding number to every name file and storing the name files in corresponding directory sharding files; storing the name files in current directory sharding files or splitting the directory sharding files, distributing a directory sharding number to every spit directory sharding file and storing the name files in the current directory sharding files or in the split directory sharding files; determining storage positions of the directory sharding files which are split from the current directory sharding files according to the directory sharding numbers and a preset value. The metadata distribution method based on the directory partition improves the concurrency degree of a system, utilizes more parallel resources, utilizes locality advantages, reduces the consumption of network bandwidth and improves the whole performance of the system.
