Estimating SAR phase from complex SAR imagery

It is shown that phase demodulation of complex SAR data in two dimensions is problematical since ambiguities in the phase arise from the presence of zeros in the intensity. A procedure for obtaining meaningful SAR phase imagery is presented and illustrated with an example from SEASAT.
