Modeling & Simulation of Hybrid Electric Vehicles using STATEFLOW

Hybrid electric vehicles have gained a firm position in the road vehicle market and are expected to continue increasing their share in the vehicle fleet. The multi domain complications arise from the interaction between various mechanical and electrical components like internal combustion engine, electric motor, battery, generator, controllers and mechanics are combined with large number of subsystem parameters, make HEV design a very complex system. Model based design is a viable approach for reducing complexity because it is having a single environment for managing multi-domain complexity. This environment will also allow us to modify several designs and parameters as per our requirements.
