A method for robust track initialization in forward scatter radar

In this paper, the methods for track initialization in three-dimensional forward scatter radar are studied. Defects of current algorithms are analyzed in this case. A new method for track initialization based on global optimization is presented and the target's observability is discussed. After the introduction of a new evaluation criterion, the simulation results show that the new method is more adaptable to measurement noise and tracks than the old ones.
