Coherent sources estimation for MIMO radar with uniform circular array

In order to estimate direction of arrival (DOA) of coherent sources for MIMO radar with uniform circular array configuration, a method which adopts dimension reduction matrix and quasi-spatial-smoothing technique is proposed in this paper. The proposed method transforms the steering vector of the MIMO radar into an equivalent Vandermonde steering vector by a dimension reduction processing. Then the quasi-spatial-smoothing is adopted to overcome the array performance degradation in the coherent environment. Moreover, the proposed method obtains DOA of the targets by polynomial rooting instead of angle search, which reduces the computation complexity. Finally, the simulation results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.
