HUMAN ENGINEERING IN REMOTE HANDLING

Abstract : An analysis of remote handling systems from the human engineering point of view is presented. Examples of actual and anticipated remote handling applications are described. Current approaches to and expeted trends in the design of remote hanling systems equipment are presented. Human capabilities and limitations which should be carefully considered by designers of remote handling systems are specified. Research efforts regrded as essential to effective human engineering in this area are identified and discussed. Pertinent references are included in the last section and bibliography.
