A User Friendly Cognitive Modelling Environment

An environment for qualitative modelling and simulation of biological systems (WQMS) is described. This environment results from the integration of the qualitative process theory and of the constraint centered approach and provides both structural and behavioral answers. The latest version of WQMS has been developed in OPS5 within Allegro common LISP on Macintosh 11. The present paper describes WQMS and focuses on an user friendly interface that has been set up to allow for qualitative modelling even by non technical users.
