Experimental results from ICRF on ASDEX Upgrade

Experimental results with screenless antennas, on and off-axis electron heating and with antennas in 0 and π phasing are summarised. Based on the results from a test set-up at ASDEX Upgrade with 3 dB hybrids the positive effects of hybrids on the RF technical device and on the operational characteristics are discussed, showing also the requirements for other components of the RF system. Additionally a new arc protection system is described and results from conditioning tests with arcs are given.
