Coding for the Wyner-Ziv problem with turbo-like codes

This paper reports on a practical coding scheme for the Wyner-Ziv problem using scalar quantization followed by parallel concatenation of latin square based encoders and an iterative turbo decoder. The proposed scheme operates as close as 2.9 dB from the Wyner-Ziv rate-distortion curve.
