Analgesic effects of quetiapine in two cases

To the Editor, Quetiapine is an atypical antipsychotic, frequently used for bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. Furthermore quetiapine is approved as a combination treatment for major depression. Combining quetiapine with SSRIs or venlafaxine increases drug response and relieves comorbid anxiety and residual depressive symptoms.1 Interestingly there are mounting data, denoting potential analgesic effect of quetiapine. There are several reports pointing out quetiapine relieves pain in fibromyalgia, migraine and chronic regional pain syndrome.2 Here we report two case report who benefited from analgesic effect of quetiapine.
