In this paper, a new memory polynomial with nonuniform delay taps is proposed for predistorter linearization of wideband power amplifiers. This method focuses on the effect of nonuniform time delays used in the memory polynomial predistorter (MPPD) functions. It is implemented using advanced design system (ADS/spl reg/) software. Simulation results show that the proposed method can effectively reduce in-band distortion for wideband power amplifiers (PA) that exhibit memory effects. Excellent improvement in intermodulation distortion (IMD) suppression by the new predistortion functions is shown to be due to the use of nonuniform delay taps.
