Evaluation of the residual strength degradation in composite laminates under fatigue loading

Residual strength degradation in graphite/epoxy composite laminates is evaluated and a model proposed relating the residual strength to the applied fatigue cycles and the maximum applied stress. Based on this model, the statistical distribution of the residual strength is derived and compared with available experimental data. Good agreement is observed between the proposed model and experimental results.
