Urban infrastructures and sustainable social practices

Using historical examples for lessons regarding behavior and the built environment, the author presents a more recent case of what seems to be a legitimate and successful example of design that influences social practices (DiSP). Treating cities as problems of organized complexity is the recommended strategy for the development of a successful DiSP. The best method to achieve this is through a dialogue-based alignment of perspectives between the providers and users of urban infrastructure.
