An unconditionally stable subcell model for arbitrarily oriented thin wires in the FETD method

We have presented a subcell model for incorporating arbitrarily oriented thin wires in the FETD method. A symmetric coupling between field and wire makes it possible to prove that the resulting system is unconditionally stable. The results for the transmitting dipole antenna are very consistent for different wire orientations and display good correspondence with a method of moments solution. Results of good accuracy have also been presented for a receiving loop antenna.
