Innovative Facilities for Subsurface Imaging

In this paper two measurement facilities recently acquired at the Second University of Naples are presented. Both instrumentations are designed for the measurement of the electromagnetic field scattered by vertical structures, under a reflection mode configuration, that is source and receiver antennas lay form the same side. The first one is located inside an anechoic room in the laboratory; the second one is transportable so to perform in situ measurements. The chosen measurement configuration and the frequency band of operation aim to providing different subsurface imaging modalities by fully exploiting the illumination and reception diversity
